Description

The 2017 Lammy review concludes that “BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) individuals still face bias, including overt discrimination, in parts of the Justice System” . As minorities make up 14% of the population in England but more than 25% of the prison population, protests for racial justice such as the Black Lives Matter movement led to widespread questionings of the
fairness of legal institutions. Could it be that some ethnicities are overpoliced, more controlled and thus more likely to be jailed?
