Abstract

The Marsh Observatory Summer Project aimed to advance the operational understanding and accessibility of the newly established Marsh Observatory. This initiative focused on mastering the Pro CMOS camera for astrophotography, contributing to image processing techniques by using multi-wavelength filters (B, I, R, V), and refining calibration methods for enhanced image quality. Additionally, we tested the mobile-app-controlled SeeStar portable telescope, capturing solar and lunar images with ease, which showed promising potential for remote observation. Project work extended to developing a user-friendly observatory website to facilitate knowledge sharing and simplify observatory use, as well as engaging in outreach activities, which included guiding tours for diverse audiences. This multifaceted approach provided valuable insights for operational efficiency and increased accessibility, laying the foundation for future scientific engagement at the observatory.
