Abstract

This paper examines the relationship between economic growth and CO2 emissions, with a particular focus on industries such as public administration, manufacturing, distribution and business services. To analyse the ratio of CO2 emissions in these industries, proxies are employed. Among these industries, three proxies – hospital, diesel and insurance – have been identified as having particularly high CO2 emissions, and the underlying causes of this have been elucidated. Finally, in light of this environmental challenge, a range of regulatory measures pertaining to different forms of pollution have been proposed, along with a forecast of future developments.
