<text>Structures formed in single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are transforming the development of paramagnetic and optoelectronic materials – with possible uses, for example, in solar cells, light-emitting diodes, and MRI devices [1]. Due to their extremely small diameters (≈1nm), SWCNTs have an innate ability to alter the stoichiometry of materials without need for chemical reaction, by confining materials to 1 dimension of expansion (1 degree of freedom). This changes the oxidation states on the elements within the compound, thus changing the electromagnetic properties of the material. This project focuses on the compound Fe3GeTe2 ,where we present: methods of synthesis; SWCNT filling and cleaning; and imaging. It is found that the morphology this compound forms inside of SWCNTs is like that of other chalcogenides observed inside SWCNTs [2].</text>

<text>Ghana's tropical climate requires cooling systems for comfortable living and working conditions. However, traditional air conditioning systems are energy intensive, contributing to high electricity bills and greenhouse gas emissions. With Ghana's increasing focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency, there is a growing need for sustainable cooling solutions. This project aims to design, develop, and deploy a solar-powered air conditioning system specifically tailored for Ghanaian homes, providing an affordable, reliable, and environmentally friendly cooling solution for households across the country. By utilizing Ghana's abundant solar energy resources, this innovative system will reduce energy consumption, lower electricity costs, and contribute to a more sustainable future for Ghanaian communities. </text>

<text>Cellulose is the most abundant natural polymer in the world, acting as the primary structural component in plant cell walls and key in processing several biomaterials. Cellulosic materials are sustainable alternatives to synthesised polymers such as plastics, with the potential to replace them in many sectors, such as textiles and packaging. To utilise cellulose effectively, we must understand how its structure changes under a variety of treatments and processes. Inspired by this notion, this project investigates how different drying methods affect the structure of cellulose extracted from tomatoes, using solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (ssNMR), a spectroscopic technique that reveals the molecular structure without destroying the sample.</text>

<text>Operation Spiderweb in June 2025 demonstrated the devastating efficacy of low-cost unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against high-value strategic targets in 21st-century warfare (Eslami et al., 2026). The operation, alongside sustained infrastructure campaigns during the Russo-Ukrainian and Middle Eastern conflicts, exposed a gap in contemporary defence doctrines; existing systems designed for conventional threats are ill-equipped to counter the low-cost, algorithmic nature of modern drone warfare. This research employs a structured, focused comparative case study of conflicts in Karabakh, Ukraine, and the Middle East using the Most Different Systems Design methodology to detect common patterns of infrastructure vulnerability. Data sources include open-source intelligence (OSINT), IMF and World Bank economic projections, policy documents, and academic literature, and the study applies these findings to Azerbaijan's critical energy infrastructure, to assess economic and geopolitical risks. Since Azerbaijan’s economic activity remains heavily dependent on a highly concentrated cluster of fossil fuel facilities around the Absheron Peninsula, like the Sangachal Terminal, which handles all of Azerbaijan's oil and gas exports (Tavana et al., 2012), the findings indicate that a sustained, targeted drone campaign would not only paralyse the domestic Azerbaijani economy and exhaust sovereign reserves but also trigger significant trade and energy price volatility across Eurasian markets. To address this vulnerability, the following study proposes a layered and cost-optimised defensive model by integrating multi-sensor detection, tiered kinetic and non-kinetic engagement, and comprehensive doctrinal coordination and reform. Together, this framework offers an extensive and adaptable solution to protect fixed critical infrastructure against algorithmic asymmetry, which is rapidly becoming a defining challenge for Eurasian geopolitics and global energy security.</text>
