The disease can significantly reduce vegetable Brassica production, causing up to 50% damage. Current treatments to control black rot are limited-antibiotics and chemicals risk promoting resistance and harm the environment (Mortensen , 2022). Phages, viruses that specifically target bacteria, offer a potential alternative. Our research tested phages against various Xcc strains, examining their impact at reducing the Xcc population.</text>

<text>We consider two-layer ReLU networks with two symmetric neuron pairs and a skip connec- tion, constrained to interpolate four symmetric data points. We study the KKT points of the squared-norm minimisation problem, where the biases and skip connection are unpenalised. By constructing feasible descent directions, we show that every KKT point represents the unique ridgeless interpolant. We further establish that KKT points have balanced parame- ters and no cancellation between coincident slope jumps. Combining these results with the relationship between the squared norm and total variation, we prove that every feasible KKT point is a global minimiser of the squared-norm interpolation problem.</text>

Using Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) data on undergraduate, first degree classifications from 2006/07 to 2024/25, we analyse the relationship between graduating cohorts’ unemployment conditions during penultimate and final years of study, and the percentage of first degree qualifications awarded first class honours. We find a consistently negative relationship between unemployment and first-class attainment, with limited statistical significance nationally. The resulting association we estimate is stronger and statistically significant in subject-level analysis.</text>

<text>Lamb waves are used in non-destructive testing of materials, often to identify and characterise defects. Electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATs) have the advantage over traditional piezoelectric transducers that they do not require couplant and can be used at higher temperatures, however using unphased comb EMAT arrays only allows the generation of one set of Lamb wave modes per array geometry. Using phased comb EMAT arrays on a plate allows generation of a variety of single lamb wave modes via an adjustable adjacent-EMAT time delay. A time-delay dependent excitation spectrum for a general EMAT phased comb array was programmed and verified experimentally for a 4 EMAT phased comb array used to generate Lamb wave modes on an ~8.109mm isotropic aluminium plate.</text>
